Video has been released by Adani of construction beginning at the site of the Carmichael coal mine after the Queensland government gave it the green light last week.
The video shows earthmoving equipment and workers in hi-vis gear on the site as surveying and grading gets underway.
The state environment department signed off on the mine’s groundwater management plan on Thursday, removing the last hurdle holding up the mine’s construction.
Adani CEO Lucas Dow has previously said the mine will create more than 1500 direct jobs in north and central Queensland, and a further 6750 indirect jobs.
Mr Dow hopes the first coal from the mine will be heading overseas within two years.
