New Pavers form key step in Flinders transformation

New pavers featuring the natural beauty of stone quarried in North Queensland have been chosen to replace the thousands of much-criticised small pavers in the mall.

Approximately 680,000 concrete pavers were laid in the area thirty years ago. After an exhaustive search for a suitable replacement and an appropriate material, the Flinders Street Redevelopment design team has chosen new grey-coloured pavers made from Australian Porphyry Stone manufactured in Herberton.
